Elektromos jármű hajtásláncának rezgésdiagnosztikája: Vibration diagnostics of electric drivetrains

One of the big trends in the automotive industry in recent decades is the advancement of electric drivetrains. There are many open questions in the development and use of these. Diagnostic systems also need to be adapted to new technologies as they move from internal combustion engines, at least in part. Vibration diagnostic tools have been successfully used in conventional powertrain vehicles. In our basic research we investigated which parts of the available vibration diagnostic systems are suitable for performing measurements on an electric vehicle. Kivonat Az utóbbi évtizedek egyik nagy autóipari változása az elektromos hajtásláncok előretörése. Ezek fejlesztésében és felhasználásában sok nyitott kérdés található még. A belsőégésű motorokról való – legalább részleges – áttérés során a diagnosztikai rendszereknek is alkalmazkodnia kell az új technológiákhoz. A rezgésdiagnosztika eszközeit a hagyományos hajtáslánccal szerelt járművekben sikeresen alkalmazzák. Alapkutatásunkban azt vizsgáljuk, hogy egy elektromos jármű vizsgálata során az elérhető rezgésdiagnosztikai rendszerek mely alkatrészekkel kapcsolatos mérések elvégzésre alkalmasak

Effects of high ambient temperature on fish sperm plasma membrane integrity and mitochondrial activity — A flow cytometric study

Local extreme climatic conditions occurring as a result of global climate change may interfere with the reproduction of animals. In the present study fish spermatozoa were incubated at different temperatures (20, 25, 30 and 40 °C) for 10 and 30 minutes, respectively and plasma membrane integrity and mitochondrial membrane potential changes were evaluated with flow cytometry using SYBR-14/PI and Mitotracker Deep Red FM fluorescent dyes. No significant differences were found in plasma membrane integrity at either incubation temperatures or time points. Mitotracker Deep Red FM histogram profiles indicating mitochondrial activity showed significant (p < 0.001) alterations in all cases of higher (25, 30 and 40 °C) temperature treatments as compared to the samples incubated at 20 °C. Our results indicate that fish spermatozoa exposed to high temperatures suffer sublethal damage that cannot be detected with conventional, vital staining techniques

Simulation of 1+1 dimensional surface growth and lattices gases using GPUs

Restricted solid on solid surface growth models can be mapped onto binary lattice gases. We show that efficient simulation algorithms can be realized on GPUs either by CUDA or by OpenCL programming. We consider a deposition/evaporation model following Kardar-Parisi-Zhang growth in 1+1 dimensions related to the Asymmetric Simple Exclusion Process and show that for sizes, that fit into the shared memory of GPUs one can achieve the maximum parallelization speedup ~ x100 for a Quadro FX 5800 graphics card with respect to a single CPU of 2.67 GHz). This permits us to study the effect of quenched columnar disorder, requiring extremely long simulation times. We compare the CUDA realization with an OpenCL implementation designed for processor clusters via MPI. A two-lane traffic model with randomized turning points is also realized and the dynamical behavior has been investigated.Comment: 20 pages 12 figures, 1 table, to appear in Comp. Phys. Com

Advanced Virgo: A second-generation interferometric gravitational wave detector

Advanced Virgo is the project to upgrade the Virgo interferometric detector of gravitational waves, with the aim of increasing the number of observable galaxies (and thus the detection rate) by three orders of magnitude. The project is now in an advanced construction phase and the assembly and integration will be completed by the end of 2015. Advanced Virgo will be part of a network, alongside the two Advanced LIGO detectors in the US and GEO HF in Germany, with the goal of contributing to the early detections of gravitational waves and to the opening a new window of observation on the universe. In this paper we describe the main features of the Advanced Virgo detector and outline the status of the construction
